Shore Based Courses

Throughout the year, we run various shore-based courses ranging from RYA First aid, to VHF radio, Day Skipper and Club Race Officer Training.  Using our modern and comfortable club house, we are able to offer these courses to all persons at an affordable rate.  All of our shore-based courses support the water-based sailing and powerboating courses that are run, which provides all course participants with a complete training scheme to develop their knowledge and skills both on and off the water!

RYA VHF Radio Course

This one day course covers operation of marine VHF radios fitted with Digital Selective Calling (DSC). As part of the Global Maritime Distress & Safety System (GMDSS) the DSC facility automates many of the procedures traditionally carried out on channel 16. This qualification is a mandatory requirement for anyone wishing to use the new generation of DSC/GMDSS
